THIS WAS MY REPLY: We wear make up because of many different reasons and not ALL are to impress. Some just to look/feel less tired. Some to express feeling fun, playful, sexy, daring, creative. Sometimes it's because if we didn't, we feel naked and exposed and women have more tells than men do for what we are feeling/thinking and sometimes make up helps to disguise that if we so desire to, especially around the emotional pms times so your welcome. Any reason we want to, is fine. Even if a woman did wear makeup to impress a man rather than just men in general, maybe she thinks he's special and she wants to enhance what he already likes about her. The same woman can also feel just fine bare faced around that special guy. It's not really something to insult women about. Besides men wore makeup more at different times throughout the ages. War paint, Egyptian royalty, Victorian era upper class men, and there are other instances too such as when in plays during the Shakespearean era and only men were allowed to act in them, playing women as well. Men do wear makeup today and more than you might think. High Def tv has a lot of men wearing makeup. Some rock stars wear more than a fair share of makeup.
