DRUGSTORE DUPES FOR HIGH END FAVES AND MINI REVIEW
I know the ELF Cosmetics Ride or Die lip balm was $5 at Walmart and I think the Eye primer putty was the same price at Walmart as well. I had seen or read a review that made me want to try the lip balm since my lips had been in bad shape due to dehydration, winter weather exposure etc. So I was on the hunt for something good yet affordable but mostly one that really worked and had agreeable ingredients plus cruelty free...that is important when I make choices on what to purchase. TBH it really is so good for reasons other than helping animals, it can save you $$ I know I spend less because I tend to avoid anything not cruelty free. I do find that I am not as careful or as knowledgeable as I would like to be but I try.
I will tell you that I do very much like both of these Elf Cosmetics products and recommend them no matter what budget or if you shop cruelty free or not. The lip balm is also Vegan so if you look for that in particular as a consumer, then you really should try it!
On to the dupe part so the lip balm is a decent dupe for the Kiehl's lip balm.
Going to compare it to the mint one even though I personally only ever used the non scented/flavored original myself but I know that this balm by ELF has a very slight hint of mint to it.
The ELF Cosmetics' Putty Eye Primer is a dupe for another drugstore item that is unfortunately not cruelty free and that is :
Maybelline Color Tattoo Limited Edition 85 Beige-ing Beauty
I believe these have been discontinued anyways but they are amazing! I still have some unopened and I will use them up if they are not dried out which can happen but I do not want to buy more and no need to because this ELF Putty Eye Primer is not only cruelty free but it has hydrating ingredients that really do make a difference. I do not have oily lids but I will say it is not oily just creamy and works like a dream when you want your eyeshadow to last.
For a high end replacement I am sure it would also make a great dupe for MAC's Pro Long wear paint pot in the shade Painterly.
